Mount.cifs fails Error 20

When you mount an older style SMB device you get the following error:

mount error 20 = Not a directory
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g.man mount.cifs)

This is becuase it is not compatible with the new CIFS Extensions. To get around this, before you mount your SMB disk disable the CIFS Linux Extensions firs by using the following command:

# echo 0 > /proc/fs/cifs/LinuxExtensionsEnabled

You then should be able to mount the disk as per usual.

# mount -t cifs //10.10.0.2/Audio/ /mnt/audio/ -o guest,ro
