Android and Raspberry Pi. LUG meeting 2013-6-29

Attending this week: Tony, Elizabeth, Keiran, Crawford and Mike.

First up was installing a 32″ TV with 3 HDMI inputs.
Below, turning the TV into a smart TV/computer.  Android is running on the small Black device with the white sticker that can be seen to the bottom left of the TV. Connecting with a HDMI cable enables sound for Youtube etc. out of the TV speakers.
The device is the size of a USB stick, and has built in wifi for internet access. A wireless keyboard with built in trackerpad can be used from across the room.
Next, Android X86 on an Intel powered notebook. Is Android starting to overtake other linux distros?
Moving on to Raspberry Pi.
The latest XBMC on the Pi can add media centre capabilities to the TV.
XBMC displaying the weather forecast. The temperature is clearly visible from across the room.
