Extended Arduino session

Attending: Les, Tony, Elizabeth, Keiran, Aaron, James, Ollie and Mike.

This week we extended the session to three hours to introduce Arduino projects. Thanks go out to Cefn at http://shrimping.it/blog/ for providing the kits, and to Les for the introductory course notes and guidance.

First,  the Arduino IDE software package was installed on Linux and Windows.  Everyone built a minimal Aurduino on a breadboard with the components provided, then uploaded and ran the obligatory blink LED sketch provided as one of the example within the Aurduino IDE software package. Much blinking of LED’s followed.

Liz and Keiran went on to add a buzzer to their circuit, and modify the Blink LED sketch to sound out SOS in morse code.
